Transitioning the world through collective intelligence
The next months are going to be crucial!

Summer melted like snow in the sun, it is now time to check in: what's the status, and what are our next steps?
WHAT'S THE STATUS...
The big breakthrough this summer are the free currencies, and the launching of the flowplace. We reached our objective of having a core online platform that allows the implementation of any currency, be it for tradable, measurable or acknowledgeable wealth.
So we launched the site flowplace.org. There you have the opportunity to test directly a demo version: demo.flowplace.org. This space will allow everyone of us to get familiar with this new paradigm, to spot bugs, and to see the first emerging use. We have also communicated on the underlying philosophy, and tried to address the questions I have most frequently heard these past months.
I want to share my deep gratitude to those extraordinary souls who are holding the two ends of this new culture. One end is the deep inspiration and download of the vision, the other end is to be able to write it as software code. Thanks to Eric, thanks to Art, thanks to everyone who work hard to make this project a reality.
What you have seen so far is only the tip of the iceberg. The essential part still happens in the background:
* TheTransitioner.org has today its own server. This might look like nothing, but it offers a complete autonomy and the possibility to scale up. This was lot's of technical work, thanks to Frédéric who realized this migration. Thanks to Gerry who is now relaying and building a whole server strategy for the coming years.
* The development of xgfl,a universal language for free currencies. Xgfl is to currency design what html is to web design.
* On our server we have installed RedMine, a project management tool. We use it for bug report and software development. If you are familiar with this kind of tool, and if you want to contribute to debugging, you can create an account and we will validate it.
* We just installed a cutting-edge tool called wagn. Wagn is a wiki, a blog, a CMS (Content Management System), a database, a tool that allows to build collective knowledge from interactive exchange among participants. It holds a very new philosophy of online collaboration. We are now configuring it in the flowplace so it can be used as a forum (conversations, experience sharing) and a knowledge repository (best practice, improvements, bugs, etc). Wagn will also replace TheTransitioner wiki (based on dekiwiki) that doesn't give us full satisfaction. You will be informed when we launch it.
* Right at this moment we are configuring the operational version of the flowplace, at seed.flowplace.org. This seed version is now reserved to those who followed a collective intelligence seminar, or who are already very involved in the development of free currencies.
Last but not least, we recently had a full page on Le Monde newspaper (it's like the French version of NY Times or Washington Post), on the forthcoming free currencies. It is interesting to notice how mainstream media are beginning to echo what were still considered as weird ideas only a year ago.
NEXT STEPS
On the short term...
The operational flowplace (seed.flowplace.org) is FINALLY going to allow us create and exchange integral wealth without being dependent on Euros and other conventional currencies. We should be able to use it by the end of September. It mostly depends on how many hours of work the flowplace team can invest in this initial configuring.
Don't forget to register in the group Flowplace Early Users, so you can ask for a seed.flowplace.org account to Fernanda, and participate to the experience building if you are part of those eligible for this first round (don't worry, it will quickly be open to every members of this site).
I will be in a semi-retreat mode in Mexico during the whole month of September to work on my book. Fernanda provides me with her care and love, she has created a beautiful inspiring environment so that I only have to think about writing. This is a great privilege.
The objective of this book is to assemble and share all these years of research with a wider public. Everything you have seen, talked about or heard during seminars will be there, with more details. But a book remains a book. What it won't offer is the direct live experience we build during our seminars. There is nothing as precious as this.
So right now I use every possible moment to work on the book, with the objective to have it ready by the end of this year. It is feasible, and it's necessary considering what seems to be about to happen.
On the medium term...
I see the last 2009 quarter as a big battle, on every front (yes, it's my warrior language that I can't help speaking...).
About free currencies, I would love if we could launch the flowplace beta testing phase by early 2010. It means it will be open to a large number of people, so we can prepare for the final launch. But before we must succeed in using the technology among ourselves in the network. We don't want to open the platform until we are certain about its robustness. Everyone's contributions will make this next step possible. And it is as simple as this: we all need the flowplace and free currencies now. So let's use them!
Soon we are going to schedule regular online visits and learning sessions about the flowplace. Keep checking TheTransitioner website.
On the events side, these next 3 months are going to be very loaded. Just check the calendar of events to get a sense of it (everything has not yet been announced!)
On September 24 we will facilitate an online metacurrency/flowplace event. The intention is to attract geeks willing to work on the software code. If you know any geeks who might be interested in joining these projects, please contact Zoupic. It is important we move to the next level in regards to technical resources.
October 9 we have our next Trip at the Heart of Global Collective Intelligence (voyage au coeur de l'intelligence collective globale) in Paris (that's in French, but we plan to make it international). This will be a good opportunity to gather and share our first feedbacks and vision.
Two English seminars are also scheduled: one level 1 this September in Mexico, and another level 1 upstate NY by January 2010 (it will be announced soon).
Beyond this loaded agenda, a whole amazing energy is emerging. Everywhere on the web people talk about the flowplace and free currencies. It seems viral dynamics has begun. Solicitation, pressure and opportunities may become important. I am preparing myself to it, I propose everyone to do so.
2010 is likely to be a decisive year for the world economy. I see the year when free currencies are taking off, and gradually override the scarce currencies.
On a more personal plane, I have tossed all my savings in the battle. Same with Fernanda. Our financial visibility in conventional money is no more than 2-3 weeks, we are never certain how we will pay for our rent. But the law of serendipity and trusting the universe are part of our practice. It is a choice, we are not complaining about it. It undoubtedly pushes us, without any possible return, towards the next economy, i.e. towards the flowplace. No one can assert we don't believe in it :)
This aspect of our life adds quite some intensity in what we experience. We know many of you are facing the same challenges. So it is time to hang together and to help each other!
The best way to do it is to place intentions in the flowplace: be an offerrer, be a requester! Invite new people you trust to play ! The more we are, the more we will create a sustainable and autonomous economy.
We are going to build wealth without Euros and Dollars. We might be "poor" of scarce money, but we are infinitely rich of our knowledge, our resources, our time, our love. So everything is fine!
I want to express my gratitude to the beautiful collective intelligence that is manifested by and through each of you. Whenever there is a call for an action, many of you stay late or wake up early to nourish generative online conversations, about free currencies, about collective intelligence, wisdom and consciousness. Among us there are amazing connectors and communicators, others provide a groundbreaking technical work, others offer amazing unique gifts and expertise. Everyone is finding his right placement. We are a whole ecosystem, this is fascinating to witness and experience!
Let's continue to gather as much as we can, online and physically. Let's share our experience! Together we are building a new wisdom culture, a new humanity.

Wonderful path that you are opening. It's really good to have an overview of the global collective body. Reading you guides me in the next steps and give an idea of where we are, where we are going and how. The energy is here, it always is, and it is wonderful to feel it. The intensity of our work and the challenges will only be bigger with the time, therefore we need to prepare ourselves for it.
Amazing and strange times that we are living in.

The url http://www.flowplace.org don't work, where http://flowplace.org does. Just an alias to add in apache conf :) (looks like a typical error I could have made myself on server config, I also don't like the www. prefix). Keep up the good work, mate.
